Nature Trail

This 2.5 km year round nature trail forms a loop through Cannington's MacLeod Park. Your walk or cycle will take you through meadows, woodland and along the banks of the Beaver River. Visit the Kiosk which provides a great place to sit and relax. Close-by are CHS's community gardens: Pollinator Garden, Rose Garden, Grass Garden, and Hillside Garden.

This Trail is an ongoing project of the Cannington Horticultural Society and is accessible from the Durham Region Trails network.

The nature trail officially opened on June 8, 2002 at MacLeod Park in Cannington. The following photos were taken during the opening ceremonies.

2019 marked the time for a few new improvements and updates on the Nature Trail. Five new signs were created to mark the Trail (see sample below) and a major cleanup of the trail was done. A new bridge was constructed replacing the older bridge who had served it's purpose for a very long time and was in disrepair.

We invite you to take a walk along the Nature Trail ~ and enjoy the outdoors!
